The Senior Medicare Patrol Program provides Health Care Prevention services to seniors, caregivers, and professionals who work with senior citizens in New York State. It is a federally funded program. As such, we work with federal officials to ensure that we encourage Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to detect, prevent and report health care fraud when they see it. This is achieved through a corps of volunteers, counseling, and community outreach. The director of this program would have to be a self-starting, energetic, creative person with experience in dealing with multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, and hard to reach populations with excellent presentation, written, and organizational skills.- Provide oversight to attain the goals and objectives of the program on a state-wide level:Oversee & Implement SMP Volunteer ProgramOversee Educational & Informational Activities o Interface with other programs at NY StateWide Senior Action Council Maximize opportunities to promote the SMP program and StateWide in all NYS Counties o Supervise SMP Staff o Supervise SMP Volunteers o Prepare reports for the funding source o Serves as conduit to the funding source o Maintains self current on latest trainings, directives and activities from the funding source o Report to the Executive Director
